More Than a Cycle: What Clinicians and Menstruators Want You to Know

This presentation brings together clinical insight and the lived, shared experiences of menstruators to highlight gaps in menstrual health. Grounded in personal experience and shaped by conversations with fellow menstruators, it also reflects the perspective of a nurse committed to learning about the complex realities of menstrual cycles not just from textbooks, but from real experiences. These are the things that don’t always make it into product design but affect comfort, confidence, and overall well-being.

This discussion explores how needs shift throughout the menstrual lifecycle from adolescence to perimenopause and dig into common challenges like heavy bleeding, irritation, hormonal changes, and microbiome disruption. This session offers a perspective that blends real-world insight with clinical learning, calling for menstrual products that are informed by both science and lived experience. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how centering the voices of menstruators can lead to more thoughtful and effective solutions.
